Jessie Coffield
Jessie Coffield is an American T.V. show host, reporter, and sports anchor. She is also an actress and social media influencer. A former Division I lacrosse player, Jessie Coffield was a member of the women’s lacrosse team at Boston College. As a senior, she was named captain of the team. In 2011, she was awarded Chevrolet Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week.
Coffield also participated in the Varsity field hockey team as a student-athlete at Boston College. At the end of her junior year, she was offered multiple Division I athletic scholarships. She decided to pursue a career in sports journalism.
After graduating college, Coffield worked as an assistant editor for C.B.T. News. Then, she took an on-camera internship with C.B.T. Network in Georgia. However, she needed more time to build up her sports journalism experience.
Jim Brown
Jim Brown is one of the top five college lacrosse players of all time. The former Syracuse University star was selected to the All-American Lacrosse team in 1957 and 1958 and was named to the All-Century Football Team. He was also a consensus first-team All-American in football.
As a player, he broke many barriers. He was the first black to play in the National Collegiate Lacrosse Association. During his time at Syracuse, he lettered in four sports: football, lacrosse, basketball and track. In 1956, he was selected as the school’s Athlete of the Year.
Jim Brown is a philanthropic athlete. His passion for sports landed him the chance to play for a professional franchise. He was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in 1957 and spent nine seasons in the N.F.L. While in the N.F.L., he was a three-time NFL MVP and led the league in rushing yards eight times.
Grey Gait
If there is a college lacrosse player who stands out, it is Gray Gait. He has been a player of note for more than two decades, and he’s a big part of the success that has taken Syracuse to three National Championships.
In addition to his playing prowess, Gait is also an accomplished coach. Having served as an assistant at Maryland and the Baltimore Bayhawks, he’s coached two teams in the National Lacrosse League and one in the United Women’s Lacrosse League.
While Gait has won multiple awards in his career, the most prestigious was his induction into the National Lacrosse League and U.S. Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2005.
As a player, Gait led the NLL in goals seven times. He’s also the second-most-ever goal scorer in the league. His 401-point career also broke the NCAA Division I record.
Mikey Powell
Many players in collegiate lacrosse history have set a standard for success. But no player has done so more than Mikey Powell. He played for two national championships and is now one of the top 5 college lacrosse players of all time.
Mikey’s career began in 2005. He is the all-time leading scorer for the Syracuse University men’s lacrosse program. Averaging more than a goal and an assist a game, he led the team to the Final Four in his senior year. He broke numerous records during his collegiate career.
During his career at Syracuse, Mikey was a four-time All-American, a two-time Tewaaraton Award finalist, and an NCAA tournament M.V.P. In addition to his accolades on the field, he has won the Jack Turnbull Award, awarded to the nation’s best attackman.
Paul Rabil
Paul Rabil is one of the top 5 college lacrosse players of all time. He’s also one of the most famous athletes on earth. That’s not to say he’s a cliche. Unlike most sports stars, Rabil’s career isn’t just about winning. It’s about his ability to make a difference off the field.
After his collegiate years at Johns Hopkins, Rabil transferred to Dematha Catholic in Maryland. This is a very well-known school for its basketball program.
Rabil’s collegiate career was a success; he was a four-time All-American, a two-time national champion, and a team captain. In addition, he was also selected to participate in the M.L.L.’s All-Star game. He joined the Washington Stealth’s team and helped them win the National Lacrosse League’s Champion’s Cup in 2010. However, he wasn’t on the field for the rest of the season.
